Who is Seshat?

Seshat is referred to as the Goddess of Measurement and Writing during Ancient Egypt (Kemet). Her name specifically refers to her role as a scribe as she was depicted on tombs recording the time allotted to a pharaoh.

Seshat represents the relationship between measurement and writing. There is a dynamic relationship between the two as measurement allows us to record the symbolism of experiences and writing converts those symbols into a language that can be translated to others. This company values to importance of both mediums.

This company was inspired by Egypt's Seshat and the Founder's aunt, Carrie Davie, the Seshat of her family. Auntie Carrie is famous for her stories, which she often told sitting on her porch rocking in a chair. Auntie Carrie is unique because she was not only a storyteller, but she was a herstorian, librarian, archivist, and record keeper for her family. These intertwining tasks allowed her to collect lots of data, which she compiled into family stories.

She created the company in 2018 to assist communities, organizations, and entities with telling their stories. AJ has a BA in Journalism, MA in Cultural Anthropology, MPH in Applied Biostatistics and Epidemiology, and a PhD in Psychometrics.
